What I have Learned...

In this class I have learned how to better put papers together. I don't really think that it is going to make much of an effect on the rest of my college career because this is the only english class that I have to take. I do have to take a writing intensive class for my generals where this class will come in handy. I had also learned a little bit more about using commas correctly within a sentence. I believe that helps a lot because I feel like teachers get annoyed when they see that a student doesn't know how to use them. Overall I think this was a great class and I had a lot of fun this year.

Most Incredible Thing

This past summer I was at my friends grandparents house that is on a lake. While out boating I heard a engine noise but it was not coming from the water. When I look into the air I saw two flying go-cart type vehicles going around the lake. They had this big fan contraption on the back of them that were keeping them in the air. I was so confused when I first saw these things and could only think of how that is possible. They were moving left, right, up, and down all from a fan. I couldn't stop watching them flying around until they finally left the lake. For the next few days I was just thinking about how much I wanted to be flying in one of those. I think it would be one of the best experiences I would of had in a while. That was the most incredible thing I have seen in recent years.

Teleport

If I could teleport anywhere at this moment it would be to an American cruise thats route includes three stops in Mexico. I would bring a long a girl name Jessica Broadway because I know that she would love to spend time on the cruise and have a nice relaxing vacation. The reason I chose this place was because I went on a cruise like this in 9th grade and it was one of the most amazing times in my life. Then I went with a friend named John Kilchenmen. The three things I would bring with is a suitcase of clothes, my wallet, and my phone. Everything from the cruise is so appealing to me from everything on board being free execpt for the gift shop to tanning outside of one of the ppols on board. If I could teleport anywhere it would be on the exact cruise I was on in 9th grade.

Holiday Memory

I don't really have much of a crazy holiday memory because my family is small and so we dont have and big get togethers. I have a larger side of the family on my step dads side but we have all seemed to have grown apart. When I was younger my steps dads family would always have the party at their house. There would be tons of family friends and relatives there. When it was Thanksgiving time it would get so packed in the house because it was cold outside that there was never a boring moment. Tons of little kids like me running around at the time was the best part for me. There would always be so much food because that side of the family was Lebanese which meant they knew how to cook :). The food there was always great and I always had a good time being around my cousins.

Fear

Clowns are the scariest things of all times. No matter iof they are happy sad or mad I get the sense that they want to kill me. It all started back when I was around the age of 10 and decided to watch the movie It. The whole movie is about a killer clown in a community and a group of middle age children try to kill the clown. If I were to watch the movie now I probably wouldn't be so creeped out but the timing that I had watched the movie had a great impact on my fear. Another moment I can remember is when I was sleeping over a friends house for his birthday. Everything this that whole day was going really well until it was the time to go to sleep. We were all sleeping in the basement and I was the last one up. I had fallen asleep and had a dream about a clown chasing after me to try and kill me. When I had woke up I had looked around the room and saw that there was a shelve bolted th the wall and on it were a bunch of model clowns. This led me to believe that my dream was true. I had jumped up and then saw the my other friends sleeping around me and figured it was just a dream. I had moved to a different spot in the room so I could not see the clowns and fell back asleep. Still till this very day clowns are the most frightening thing to me.

Walk

Doing this walk made me think of the nature walks that I had gone on back in middle school. Every year for science we had gone on two nature walks, one during the fall and one during the spring. We would go on these walks to look at how nature changes during these seasons. Looking at the color of plants, which animals are out, and the climate changes. I have always felt so much peace by looking at nature develope from stage to stage. In the fall everything is so peaceful and quiet and then in the spring you can hear the birds and sounds of nature waking back up from a cold, snowfilled winter. When I went on the walk today I just looked around at the bare trees with their leaves all over the ground and the animals gathering the last bit of food before winter comes. When you stop and look at the world from a nature perspective you can really see how peaceful it is.

What I want to learn about

One thing that I have always wanted to learn about is cars. Not learning how to drive because I already know how but more indepth in how the car operates. I want to be able to work on a car and make it look and run the way I want it to. From doing simple repairs to making my car look the best on the street, I want to learn how to do it all. By doing this I could also cut down on all of those little car costs of having to take it to the repair shop. Labor costs are the most ridiculous costs that I have ever seen. I think my learning how to fix up cars would also be a great stress reliever and would always give me something to work on when im bored or have nothing else to do. I have always been a big fan of street racing movie such and the Fast and the Furious movies. The different sounds of engines roaring excites me. Then there are the little things that I think are important to know about a car like how the car runs or if it's making a certain noise how to know what is the problem with the car. So the one thing I would like to know more about are cars.

My Older Brother

My older brother is a figure in my life that is just never boring. He suffers from ADHD so he is on the go all the time. He is always chasing after me or one of my siblings to fart on or to wrestle with. He can't seem to ever control how loud he is talking. During video games my dad usually has to quiet him down about every 2 minutes or so. He is such a character to meet and has a great sense of humor. A good thing that has came out of this is that he has built a nice work resume. He is so good with people because he been jumping around to so many things that he has a general knowledge that he can just relate to almost everyone. He can't stay in one job or one apartment to the point where I think he has had more jobs and has moved more times that both my Mother and Father. He will do the most outraguoes things to make people laugh one in particular is the many different voices he can make. He is a guy that will keep a person up at night a wake them up early in the morning for the most random things. Through all of this I love my brother for who he is and I always will. My brother is the biggest one in our family towering over the rest of us. Over the past years has has gained his 20's weight and now is just this big man. One day that I rememeber specifically of him is that he was farting and he wanted the whole family to hear so he came into the living room where we all were. standing behind my mom he says " Guys listen to this one". He went on to push as hard as he could and air wasn't the only thing to come out. Luckily we had hard wood floors and I can still hear the thuds of him running to the bathroom after saying "Oh, Shit". He had came back with a wipe and towel to clean up the mess. Anotther lucky moment is that he came in before my Mother found out what had happened.

Stress Reliever

When things just are not going my way I usually just start to play video games. Video games get my mind off of whatever else is going on in the world. I tend to get lost in them and even lose the sense of time. What feels like a half hour of playing is actually 2 hours. The two main games that I play is Madden which is the nfl sponsored game and then Call of Duty which is based off of World War 2. I play these games online so I go against people from all over the world. These games just take off stress because I am very competitive which causes me to only focus on the game. Another reason is because I can talk smack to the video games without it saying anything back which allows me to get my anger out. The location of my video games counsil is in my room which makes it so no one will bother me while im playing. By it being in my room it helps me zone everything out and stay in my own world until I finally feel ready to come back out.

School Violence Plan Focuses On Potential Victims

The new cheif officer of pulic schools in chicago, Ron Huberan, has generated a new plan to provide safety and prevent killings within the school community. His plan consists of analysis of statistics and probability of the students in the school districts. If his plan goes the way he wants it to about 10,000 students with the highest risk lives will be better off. The plan is to give them a job to fill up time and to also provide them with an adult in the community that they can consult with that is on call 24 hours a day. It is financed by a two year stimulus plan from the government and will cost about $60 million. The studdies consisted of shootings, gangfights, and inschool activity. The results were that most of the fighting and shooting happened in a two hour window from the begining and end of school. They also plan to keep track of where gangs are located throughout the day. This plan came with controversy that parents generated because it only affects 10,000 students out of 85,000. The school district will be spending about $30 million a year on just these 10,000 students.

Homeless find hope in working on tv show

Ron Kenebrew is a former inmate that moved from Arizona to Minnesota. Once here he wonded up being homeless and wanted to make a change to that. He joined a local tv show network that is produced and presented by people who have been homeless and know exactly what it's like. This program is headed by Luis Alverenga, a former tv show and radio reporter in El Salvador. He created the show "Voices for Change" that accomplishes two things, giving a voice to the homeless and giving them hands-on training. Homeless men and women are able to take classes through the station to gain marketable skills. Kenebrew is a prime example of how this station works by his accomplishments in shooting vidoes for highschools and getting paid for it. Ted Dennis, the chairmen of the station, feels he most important thing to the station is that it is changing the way homelessness is viewed. Kenebrew feels that this station has opened the door to many opportunites for ethe homeless community as it did for him.

Can't Live Without

The one thing that I can't live without is my cell phone. Not in the sense of just having one but I need it on me pretty much at all times. It is so funny because I start to panic when it breaks or if I know I will be without it for at least a day. To me my cell phone seems to be the source of all my communication. This is in fact not true but I usually believe it to be that way. It is crazy for me to think that there was a point in time where in fact I did not have a cell pohone. I don't come to realize how I got around to making plans or talking with friends. The biggest reason isn't so much talking on the phone and making calls, but it is texting. I tend to use about 6000 texts a month. I don't know how else I would talk with friends if I wasn't able to communicate through texting. My phone is important to me now in the fact that I seem to depend on it. I use to for time, calender, communication, calculator. With the more upgraded cell phones that I get The more applications there are to use, the more the applications the more I start to depend on my phone. My phone is absolutly the item I could not live without.

Social Networking

Oh boy where do I start? Text messaging, Facebook, Myspace have all greatly changed the way that I communicate with others in this world. When I was younger it was always calling someone from my housephone if i wanted or needed to talk. Then there was the middle school days of passing notes across the room to friends. When text messaging was introduced I had a sudden change of communication. My family had gotten it when it first came out. the funny thing then was that no one else had it so it was kinda pointless at the time. Now four years later it is one of my main sources of communicating with friends from wanting to hang out or even just to have a conversation. My last year of middle school I was introduced to Myspace. This was the new craze at the time and everyone was using it. It was like a routine website to be on right after school and at night before one goes to bed. It was a easy way to talk to multiple people all at the same time. It sort of revolutionized they way people made plans to get together. It also was another thing to do when you are bored while being at home. Soon enough I had heard about Facebook and made the transfer over to that site. This site was way more advanced than Myspace in the sense that you can chat instead of only having to make wall posts. I think it makes it easier to connected with friends after school because you still have that connection with them.

Brainstorming

There have been a few moments in my life that I have experienced that had made an impact on me. One item is reading the book Bud, Not Buddy. I read this book while I was in Elementry school. This book was an inspiration to me and affected me a lot. reading it at such a young age also made it more inspiring. It change my veiw of the world in the fact that I felt sympathy for the people who grow up without a father or who have to live on the street by themselves. This book was about a young African American boy growing up in the ghetto during the 60's. He grew up without his father because he had left one day and never came back. Then while his mother got sick he ran away on an adventure to find his father. At such a young age it was a struggle to him getting around all by himself. It was a very inspirational book becuase it helped describe what many people go through in life and how fortunate I am to have the things I do. Another moving item was the movie Pursuit of Happyness. This movie did wonders on me for the feeling of sadness and sympathy. This was one of 3 movies that I have ever cried in and the only movie that made me cry multiple times throughout the film.

ANGRY!!!

The time I would have to say I was most angry came my freshman year of highschool. It was ultimately a mix of emothions through anger and sadness. It can be considered one of those "I thought I was in love stories". My best summer ever had just gotten over and it was time to go back to school. We had a football pool party where me and my girlfriend were going to be at. We had been dating for about 8 or so months and I felt like I was in love. About two days before school started I got a call from here telling crying and not speaking. She eventully told me that she had hooked up with three other guys while we were dating. This moment just tore me apart. I didn't know how to handle the situation. I had so many thoughts running through mind that I started to cry. I wanted to beat people up, I wanted to yell at her but I just sat there and cried. What my actions came down to is that I calmly toldher that it was over between us and held all my anger in. I would go through stages of anger everytime I saw the people that I knew she had hooked up with but did nothing about it. It's just the type of person I am, I hold my emothions and and don't let them show. If i were to have to handle the situation again I wouldn't change a thing.

One Crazy Dream

One crazy dream I had involved me dying multiple times but in different ways. The main focus wasn't me dying but I was a hero that would never finish his quests alive. One of the missions I remember doing was the classic kill the dragon at the top of the mountin. I had went on the adventure and climbed the mountin with various obsticals in my way. I had to kill other creatures on my way up. When I finally had gotten to the top I was one on one with the dragon. After battling with the dragon I had been defeated when it had pushed me off of the cliff. Another adventure I had went on involved me being a pirate stealing gold from a cave. During this section of the dream I was not the only pirate looking for this gold. I was the first one to reach the gold and brought it back to my town. As soon as I step on the dock I was shot several times from the back and the other pirate walked off with my gold. That was where my dream had ended and I had woken up after that. There were a few more stories during that dream but I do not remember them.

Toilet Paper

When I was in 8th and 9th grade I had been going through my rebel state. Along side me was a good friend of mine named John Kilchenman. Being the age we were we got really heavy into t-ping. We were to the point where we got bored with it and started doing more and using different methods. In the span of that year we vandilized around 10 or so houses either for fun or to people we didn't like. We felt so cool at the time because we would regularly organize every step into this process and wouldn't just do it for the hell of it. Some of the other methods we used included silly puddy and play doe all over the driveways, party paper instead of toilet paper, and the use of window paint on glass. Our goal was to always out do what we had done the previous night so it tended to get worse and worse or in our case bigger and better. The first house we started out with only a 24 pact of toilet paper. When we got to our last house we had used everything mentioned earlier and around 115 rolls of toilet paper. It was great for us to see the trees become fully white and see the damage we had done.
